The GP 40-2 locomotive is basically a GP40 with a few small changes.
They were built between April of 1972 and November of 1986, weighs 250,000 lbs and uses a 645E3C 16 cylinder diesel prime mover that develops 3000 hp, and 61,000 lb of tractive effort, and carries 1700 gallons of fuel. My thanks to The Diesel Shop for the information.
