Rail-fan Pictures at Rigby Yard
South Portland is the home of Rigby Yard, often refered to as the Rigby Race Track because it was built on the sight of the former Rigby Trotting Park. Three to five switchers call it home and it is a classification yard and origin or destination point for several long distance trains.

- Head north on Thompsons Point toward Fore River Parkway Trail, 0.2 mi
- Turn right onto Fore River Pkwy, 0.8 mi
- Turn right onto Veterans Memorial Bridge, 0.8 mi
- Keep left at the fork, follow signs for So Portland/US-1 S, 0.1 mi
- Continue onto US-1 S, 1.3 mi
- Turn left onto Union St, 0.1 mi
- Turn left onto Sunset Ave
PT Tower is at the end of Rigby Rd, South Portland, ME 04106 43°37'23.7"N 70°17'54.5"W. Be careful not to get into the yard here, the railroad police don't like it.
